The eponymous salicylic acid is a hard-working BHA (beta-hydroxy acid) that peels off dead cells to reveal fair, clear skin. It cleans pores and has a high pH tone that normally behaves at a high pH, but the ordinary has formulated this low pH mask to allow salicylic acid to work effectively. The mask has a very high concentration of salicylic acid and a low amount of BHA. BHA to cleanse pores and also a little clay for a more natural look. This face mask is suitable for oily and impure skin – prone to skin changes that help to reduce the appearance of imperfections and at the same time show a more radiant skin.
This mask is made with a combination of ingredients such as salicylic acid, caustic soda and glycerine. These ingredients, known for their ability to detoxify the skin, are also the main ingredients of the ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Mask. Simply apply evenly with your fingertips to the skin and leave on for no longer than 10 minutes and remove any blemishes. Normally, it is recommended to do a patch test for this mask for at least 10-15 minutes before use. It is also worth mentioning that the amount of salicylic acid added to the mask is the largest you can put into a skincare product.
I had a little redness, but this is usual for my skin after exfoliation, so I scrubbed myself off after the mask. My skin felt super smooth and fresh and I felt like I had deep clean if that makes sense. When I removed the mask, which is easy with a face cloth, I didn’t have to scrub anything away after use. I look forward to trying it out even more and seeing what effect it has on my skin. I like to use it as a mask for my combination skin, but I would like to try it more if it works for me. If you feel your skin is getting dry, leave it on for a few minutes until it feels as if it has been peeled off to dry.
My chin happens to be a hormone-rich focal point, and bathing my skin in salicylic acid is my idea of a complexion nirvana. It is basically a repellent remedy for annoying breakouts and it is a gentle way to incorporate the acid into your regime. The formula, filled with charcoal and clay, is designed to plug pores and revitalize and smooth dull and clogged skin, while the BHA formula dampens excess sebum. It aims to improve the appearance, suppleness and clarity while leaving a feeling of refreshment on the skin.
The salicylic acid solution is supplied in a matt 15ml bottle with dropper, and below is a small amount of the lightening mask. This is another gift that works surprisingly well on oily and acne-sensitive skin. It is the perfect solution for people with oily, acne-prone and dry skin, as well as for all of us. My skincare currently consists of a small amount of salicylic acid, which helps keep pimples away, but with such a low concentration I do little else with it.
I desperately needed something to clean my face, so when I was advised to use ordinary salicylic acid, I couldn’t be more excited to use it. Let the mask do its job for about 10 minutes before rinsing it off. My face is much smoother, has a more even tone and the blackheads that have plagued my face for so long have almost disappeared. It has also really reduced my bumps and pimples.
You can use it on your face to gently exfoliate it and avoid blackheads and breakouts. It continues smoothly, dries quickly, is thin and easy to work with, and gives a matte finish, so you don’t have to worry about oiliness. My skin feels great, and the light exfoliation combined with the salicylic acid makes my skin so soft. I will use this mask approximately once a week, with a 5.5 rating from Girl Rating and a 2.0 rating on BeautyBuddy.com.
